A relaxing trip on the beach and a thrilling parasail ride reminded me of practical life lessons on how to confidently take that first step forward to reach your goals. Read the story below.
Check out my brother and I posing so casually in our our seats on a speed boat like we weren’t just flying 300 feet above the ocean with only a harness to support us. 😅🤣 Y’all we were parasailing (Insert squeal!) lol Okay and something funny to share is just moments before, I was talking all this junk about how adventurous I am! Until it was time to eat my words! Lol
I was so nervous, my mind started thinking of all the crazy things that could go wrong. [Sidebar] Okay naturally I’m a total “safety patrol” so this was out of my comfort zone for sure but I wanted to try something new! And as soon as I stepped out to do it, I got scared. 🤦🏾♀️
This taught me that in those moments when we start to fear we often just need a reminder that we can do it! That’s what my brother did, reminded me that I said yes to this experience and that I could do it! (Also we paid this money so we not getting off this boat! 🤣) Haha, but sure enough, after that pep talk, we soared high with our feet dangling above the waves. And I’m so glad I said YES to this experience even in the middle of that small voice of doubt/ fear!
PRO TIP: Now think about how this applies to our career goals. How many times have we said, “That looks too hard or difficult.” Or, maybe we’ve said, “Why would they consider me, when I don’t have experience?” Let’s remind ourselves that yes, we can do it, and confidently take that next step forward! You’ll look back and be so glad that you did!

“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.”
Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
This is so encouraging! Thanks for sharing.
